Getting your Bespoke Kitchen Ready for Summer

In recent weeks we have really started to feel the summer heat and with hotter days yet to come here are some tips on how to get your bespoke kitchen ready for the peak of summer!

Deep clean

The first key step into preparing your bespoke kitchen for the summer is to do a full deep clean. Re-organise the cupboards, clean the cabinetry, and certainly give your chopping boards a deep clean ready for all of those fresh fruit and vegetables.

It’s also a great time of year to get your windows cleaned to allow maximum light into your kitchen. However, if your kitchen doesn’t get too much sunlight throughout the day, putting a mirror on the wall to catch the light is also a good way to brighten up the space for a more summery feel.

No-cook recipes

When we’re in the peak of summer heat we don’t want to be standing around the hob cooking or spending hours preparing food. To get ready for those extra hot days take a look at some no-cook recipes so that you can keep both yourself and your kitchen cooler. From fresh salads and delicious sandwiches to yummy treats such as ice-creams and cheesecakes, there are endless cook-free flavours to try.

Bring the summer nature indoors

Summer largely revolves around nature – spending time in the garden, going on walks in the sunshine – so why not bring the outdoors inside? It’s a great time of year to fill your home with seasonal flowers and colourful plants, you can match them to the colour scheme of your kitchen or even be bold and opt for something completely different.

You could even include a small herb garden on your windowsill which not only adds the summer green to your bespoke kitchen but also means you can add fresh flavours into your no-cook recipes and BBQs.

Keeping cool in the heat

Ice-creams and cold drinks are the best way to cool down when it’s a hot summers day, so to ensure you always have a good stock in your fridge/freezer it’s a great idea to empty and re-organise what’s inside. You could even get creative with ice cube trays and create different flavoured ices perfect for cocktails or mocktails.

Dinnerware, BBQs, and picnics

With summer parties and Al Fresco dining just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get prepared. Things such as reusable bamboo plates and cups make great picnicware to avoid any breakages and are much lighter to pack. For inside the kitchen you could get special summer dinnerware for an extra summer touch. Floral plates, patterned bowls, or colourful glasses – there are so many ways to add summer into your bespoke kitchen!
