2025- Bespoke Kitchen and Furniture Overview

Bespoke Kitchen

Initially, the kitchen in this house was in a small room that felt enclosed and cramped. But after choosing to situate the kitchen in a different room, building work was carried out to remove a few interior walls which opened up a lovely spacious area for the new kitchen. This provided the space to incorporate an island, a generous larder, and a range of storage and appliances.

The blue island and off-white wall cabinetry perfectly complement the natural tones of the oak features and quartz worktop, and now with the large patio doors inviting in lots of natural light, this new bespoke kitchen feels refreshing and elegant – with plenty of space and storage.

The old kitchen room was then utilised to create both a toilet and utility – keeping those nosier appliances (washing machine and tumble dryers) out of the kitchen space.

Being in an older property there were a few unchangeable features we had to work around. For example, one of the walls was largely uneven meaning we had to ensure that the storage space did not become too restrictive whilst still keeping the room square and open. Though it was a challenge to make all of these aspects fit, were able to create a beautiful utility that feels organised and open whilst suiting the original features of the house.

Utility

Butterfly Extending Table

For this project we designed a butterfly extending table with an overall sleek design, reminiscent of the mid-century modern era. This stunning dining table was handmade in Cherry and beautifully finished with a satin oil. For such a unique piece we had to also make the solid brass pivot mechanism that brings out the centre leaf for a perfectly smooth extension.

Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes

These gorgeous bespoke wardrobes were designed to fit along the full run of a wall of a walk-through to the bedroom. We incorporated a break-front to add visual detail along with the quadrant bead within the door panels.

Internally, these wardrobes provide a range of clothing storage including hanging, drawers, and shelving, handmade in oak with sensor lighting. The sleek antique brass handles add a modern twist to the overall traditional design.

Alcove Bookcases & TV Cabinet

This project consists of two alcove bookcases and a TV unit – each situated within the same room. Handmade in solid oak they were designed to match the existing fold-away desk we had previously made for our client. The TV unit was initially planned to be enclosed within wall cabinetry, however, upon designing we felt that with the oak being the chosen material, it would end up appearing too busy. Instead we opted for a beautiful corner base with drawers and cupboards.

Hidden Utility Room

This utility room was accessed through a door in the kitchen. As a way to not disrupt the wall of cabinetry we incorporated a discreet hidden door into the kitchen design. Once inside the utility, the space is far from cramped, with large windows and an array of carefully designed cabinetry the room provides a designated and organised space for all the essentials and more. Hand-painted in a neutral stone colour with a slightly darker quartz worktop, the room feels both calming and refreshing.

Yard-O-Led Display Piece

This unique piece was designed and handmade for a client whose grandfather had founded the company Yard-O-Led in 1934. Handmade in African Mahogany Utile it was designed to match one of the original display cases that would have once been used in the shops selling Yard-O-Led pencils during the 1930s. Our client did not want the new piece to be purposely aged as the idea was that it was to be a new display piece for their growing collection of Yard-O-Led pencils – but matching in design to the original piece. In the photo you can see it is yet have the lettering hand-painted on.

Hand-Painted Wardrobe & Dressing Table

This hand-painted wardrobe was designed to also incorporate a dressing table area for our clients spare room. Since the room was on the 3rd floor we had to work the design around the slanted walls whilst also ensuring to maximise storage space. The oak interior provide hanging space as well as some oak drawers, and above the oak top dressing table we made some shelves with LED strip lighting for a modern and elegant touch.

The shallow drawer underneath the table provides the perfect place for makeup and small items whilst the cupboard in the footwell allows for additional storage – ensuring no space goes wasted. Here you can see a photo during the fitting process and finally how it all looks ready for the room to be decorated.
